Surgeon ophthalmologist Dimitris Takis was born in Athens in 1976.

He studied medicine at the University of Pecs, the oldest university in Hungary.

He has specialized in ophthalmology at GNN Evangelismos during 2008-2012 when he obtained the title of ophthalmologist’s specialty. He then worked in Great Britain initially at the Royal Derby hospital and then at the Bristol University Ophthalmology Clinic, where he specialized in retinal diseases and ocular inflammations by acquiring the title and diploma of medical retinal fellow.

In 2013, he was awarded the European Ophthalmology Diploma FEBO (Fellow of European Board of Ophthalmology) in Paris.
Since 2015, he maintains a modern ophthalmology clinic on Piraeus Avenue at Taurus where he addresses most of the ophthalmological issues of all ages and is a partner of eye-day clinic where he performs cataract surgeries, laser treatments, and intravitreal injections.
